CCF's Census Initiative: Because Everyone Should Be Counted
For more information on census outreach, contact Director of Civic Engagement Virginia Mosqueda at (213) 413-4130. |
We get one chance every decade to collect accurate census data. This data influences federal funding, infrastructure and government representation. For every person not counted, California stands to lose $11,400 for the ten-year period. L.A. County is the most undercounted county in the nation.
The California Community Foundation (CCF) launched the 2010 Census Initiative to help ensure an accurate count. Innovation and collaboration across sectors helped us reach our goal of a 70 percent return rate or better for L.A. County.
Find out how we and our partners did it with:
Total Invested: $1.5 million
Total Grantees: 22
Goal Exceeded: 70% or higher census participation rates in L.A. County, including hard-to-count communities. |
