Katrina Kane Liver Cancer Research Memorial Fund
Katrina (Kate) Kane died on July 18, 2008 at the age of 27. Her life and dreams were cut short by late stage liver cancer and cirrhosis. There was no reason why she was afflicted by this silent killer.
Kate was immersed in the health care profession. The establishment of this memorial fund is to enable the early detection of liver cancer and improve the treatment of those afflicted, with the hope of saving lives.
Kate would have wanted her untimely death to serve as a catalyst for solving the medical mystery of why liver cancer creeps up so quickly and is undetected, striking unsuspecting and very undeserving people like Kate. She will be missed by the many who loved her dearly.
