The California Community Foundation accepts a wide variety of assets from donors creating a fund. Unlike a private foundation, the foundation offers higher tax advantages to donors. The primary benefits of opening a fund with us over a commercial gift fund is our ability to accept non-cash gifts, to facilitate complicated legal transactions and our deep knowledge of philanthropy and our local community. We have made grants to Los Angeles County since 1915 so we know and understand the local community and the most pressing issues better than commercial gift funds.
