Top 10 reasons to partner with us:

1. WE'RE EXPERIENCED
We have served Los Angeles County since 1915. The more than 1,600 charitable funds we manage for individual, family and corporate donors make up a total endowment of more than $1 billion. In fiscal year ended June 30, 2009, CCF gave out more than $191 million in grants to invest in the future of our communities.

2. WE MAKE GIVING EASY
Philanthropy is important work, but it doesn't need to be hard work. A donor advised fund at the California Community Foundation is a fast and easy way to give. It provides the best features of a private family foundation without the legal and administrative burdens.

3. WE KNOW PHILANTHROPY
We are experts when it comes to giving, granting and involving family in your work. We can help create the best giving plan and vehicle based on your charitable goals, giving level and time available for philanthropy. We’re known as one of L.A.’s most innovative investors in permanent, low-income housing; the biggest supporter of individual artists in the region; the largest scholarship fund manager in L.A.; and a national leader in increasing services for returning vets from Iraq and Afghanistan.

4. WE GET "PERSONAL"
Unlike most commercial gift funds that give charitable check-writing services, we offer a wide range of personalized donor services, including customized research on a nonprofit organization or issue area, how to involve your family in your charitable work, individual meetings to discuss your philanthropic goals, special donor events, nonprofit site visits and more.

5. NO GIFT IS TOO COMPLEX FOR US
Do you want to establish your fund with real estate or closely held stock? Most commercial gift funds and smaller nonprofits cannot accept or manage complex assets. CCF has done so for many years, and regularly gets positive feedback from satisfied donors. We do not place restrictions on the number of grants that you can make to the charities you support.

6. YOU GET MORE BANG FOR YOUR BUCK
Our charitable giving options provide maximum tax benefits at a very low cost. A donor advised fund is far less expensive to create and operate than a private family foundation , and it offers greater tax benefits.

7. WE'RE FINANCIALLY SOUND
It is especially important in these times to consider the preservation and long-term growth of your assets. Our assets are invested by some of the nation’s most outstanding financial management firms. Our board and its investment committee, in consultation with our advisors, Cambridge Associates, review each fund manager’s performance on a quarterly basis to ensure that equity-fixed ratios are maintained prudently and changed as circumstances require, and that total return meets the foundation’s growth objectives. 8. WE KNOW L.A.
We've done the hard work for you of identifying the needs of our local communities and who's doing the most innovative and effective work to address those needs. You may want to create an unrestricted or issue-specific field of interest fund that will contribute to making our community a better place to live. We have worked in the Los Angeles community for nearly 100 years. Whether your passion lies in the arts, education, health care, human development, neighborhood revitalization, or one of our many other areas of expertise, we use our knowledge of the nonprofit world to connect you to charitable programs that address the topics you are passionate about — both in our community and around the world.

9. WE HAVE SOLID LEADERS
The foundation’s board of directors provides stewardship for all its funds. Serving without compensation, the directors approve grants, guide and review investment performance and oversee the foundation’s operations.

10. WE'RE STABLE AND SUSTAINABLE
As caretakers of funds that will long outlast their donors, we understand the nature of a permanent legacy. We expect that donors will create funds designed to last well into the future. And if someday the need for the fund no longer exists, our board of directors will find the most impactful use for the money.
