About the Fellowships for Visual Artists
For more than 90 years, the California Community Foundation has recognized, encouraged and supported the Southern California arts community by funding and nurturing a full range of artistic expressions. The Fellowships for Visual Artists supports local emerging and mid-career artists in advancing to the next level of professional development.
The California Community Foundation’s Fellowships for Visual Artists is made possible by the J. Paul Getty Trust Fund for the Visual Arts, the Brody Arts Fund, the Joan Palevsky Endowment for the Future of Los Angeles and other CCF funds.
Since 2000, the community foundation has distributed more than $3.7 million to support the arts, with $1.14 million awarded to outstanding emerging and mid-career individual artists. In 2009, $260,000 was awarded to continue supporting individual mid-career and emerging artists.
